Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: June 5, 2026

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the permitted and prohibited uses of RocketVPS services. It exists to protect the integrity of our network, the safety of our customers, and compliance with applicable laws. Violation of this AUP may result in immediate service suspension or termination.

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on our infrastructure:

Illegal Content & Activity

  • Hosting, distributing, or transmitting illegal content of any kind
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, immediate termination
  • Copyright infringement or piracy
  • Phishing, fraud, identity theft, or social engineering attacks

Network Abuse

  • Launching or participating in denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks
  • Port scanning or probing external hosts without authorization
  • Open mail relaying or sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
  • IP spoofing or other forms of network identity falsification
  • Operating botnets or command-and-control infrastructure

System Abuse

  • Unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or networks
  • Distributing malware, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious software
  • Cryptocurrency mining that causes resource abuse or affects other customers
  • Running Tor exit nodes or anonymization proxies without prior approval

3. Resource Usage

Your VPS resources (CPU, RAM, disk, bandwidth) are allocated for your exclusive use within the limits of your plan. Sustained resource usage that degrades the performance of the underlying node or other customers may result in:

  • A request to upgrade to a higher plan
  • Temporary throttling
  • Service suspension pending resolution

4. Blocked Ports

To protect our network and all customers from abuse, the following ports are blocked by default on all VMs. These restrictions target the most common vectors for spam, botnets, ransomware propagation, and DDoS amplification attacks.

Port(s) Protocol Reason Blocked
25 TCP Spam / open mail relay
465, 587 TCP Spam (SMTP submission)
23 TCP Telnet / botnet spreading
445 TCP SMB / ransomware spreading
19, 389, 1900, 11211 TCP/UDP DDoS amplification
123 (outbound) UDP NTP reflection attacks
4444, 5554, 6667, 6697 TCP Botnet C&C / Remote Access Trojans

If your workload has a legitimate need for one of these ports, open a support ticket with a detailed description of your use case. We will conduct a Know Your Customer (KYC) review before any port is unblocked. Attempting to circumvent these restrictions is a violation of this AUP and may result in immediate service termination.

5. Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for all content hosted on your VPS and for ensuring your use complies with this AUP, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws. We do not actively monitor server content, but we will act on credible reports of violations.

6. Reporting Abuse

To report abuse originating from our network, email us at [email protected] or open a support ticket. We take abuse reports seriously and will investigate all credible reports promptly.

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate potential AUP violations and to take any action we deem appropriate, including warning, throttling, suspension, or immediate termination of services — without prior notice in cases involving illegal activity or imminent harm to our network.

8. Changes

We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of our services following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
